DICTIONARY OF UNCOMMON WORDS
 

10,000 of the Most Difficult Words in the American Heritage Collegiate Dictionary    These vocabulary words and their definitions are an outgrowth of my efforts to learn the 10,100 words in the American Heritage Collegiate Dictionary that I either didn't know or didn't know well enough. I hope that you will feel free to download them and use them. A companion Thesaurus in preparation is in preparation but it isn't yet complete.
    Three improvements that I would like to make, or to see made, to this Dictionary/Thesaurus:

• An expansion of the thesaurus. It is only just begun and needs many additional entries.
• I should like to add the uncommon meanings of common words.
• To be widely useful, thousands of less-difficult words need to be added to this vade mecum.

    Hopefully, I'll be able to find time to effect these improvements.

Because this dictionary is so large when downloading from the Internet, I have alphabetized it into a chapter for each word. The letters accessing each chapter are listed below.
